BATHROOM REMODELING

Bathroom Remodeling in Tampa Bay

Florida bathrooms fail in specific ways. Improper waterproofing behind tile, undersized ventilation, and grout that was never sealed — combined with year-round humidity — is why so many Tampa Bay bathrooms look tired after eight years instead of twenty-five. We build the parts you can't see correctly, which is the only reason the parts you can see hold up.

SCOPE OF WORK

What's included.

Full demolition and disposal

Complete tear-out to the studs.

Waterproofing

Proper membrane systems behind all wet-wall tile, not just backer board.

Plumbing

Fixture relocation, valve replacement, supply and drain updates.

Electrical

GFCI protection, dedicated ventilation circuits, lighting design.

Ventilation

Correctly sized exhaust, vented outside the building. This is the single most-skipped item in Florida bathrooms.

Tile, vanities, counters, glass, and trim

Plus accessibility options — curbless showers, grab blocking, comfort-height fixtures.

PROCESS

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

Most bathroom remodels take 3 to 6 weeks on site, plus 2 to 4 weeks beforehand for selections and permitting. A primary suite with structural changes or a relocated layout runs longer. The waterproofing and inspection sequence in the middle can't be compressed — it has to cure and it has to pass.

01

Consultation & Layout

1 week

We assess the existing bathroom, discuss your needs, and explore layout options including vanity placement, shower vs. tub, and accessibility features.

02

Design & Selections

2–4 weeks

We produce a design package with tile, vanity, fixture, and lighting selections, plus a fixed-price quote for the full scope.

03

Construction

3–6 weeks

Demo, waterproofing, rough-in, tile, vanity, and fixture installation. We seal the room with dust barriers and complete waterproofing before any tile goes down.

04

We test every fixture, check for leaks, and walk you through maintenance. All waterproofing and plumbing work is warrantied.

COST

What does a bathroom remodel cost in Tampa Bay?

Bathroom remodels in Tampa Bay generally run $15,000 to $45,000. A guest or hall bath typically lands between $15,000 and $25,000. A primary suite remodel usually runs $28,000 to $45,000, and can exceed $70,000 with a custom shower, freestanding tub, and premium tile.

Guest / Hall Bath

$15,000–$25,000

Standard vanity, toilet, tile shower, and fixtures in a smaller footprint with minimal layout changes.

Primary Suite

$28,000–$45,000

Double vanity, walk-in shower, freestanding tub, custom tile work, and premium fixtures.

Spa Bathroom

$45,000–$70,000+

Large-format space with custom shower, freestanding tub, heated floors, premium stone, and designer lighting.

What moves the number

Moving fixtures

Relocating a toilet or shower drain on a slab means cutting and repouring concrete.

Tile scope and size

Floor-to-ceiling tile costs substantially more than a tiled surround, and large-format tile takes more labor to set flat.

Shower glass

Frameless glass is a meaningful line item on its own.

Vanity and fixtures

Stock vanity to custom millwork spans several thousand dollars.

We quote every project line by line after walking the property. You'll see what each piece costs before you commit to any of it.

FAQ

Questions about bathroom remodeling.

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Tampa Bay?

Most bathroom remodels in the Tampa Bay area run $15,000 to $45,000, with guest baths at the lower end and primary suites at the upper end. Relocating plumbing fixtures and using floor-to-ceiling tile are the two changes that move the number most.

How long will I be without the bathroom?

Three to six weeks for most bathrooms. If it's your only full bathroom, we'll sequence the work to shorten the fully-out-of-service window as much as the inspection schedule allows.

Do you do curbless and walk-in showers?

Yes. Curbless showers require recessing the shower pan into the subfloor or slab and getting the slope exactly right, so they cost more than a standard pan — but they're the best option for aging in place and they look considerably better.

Why do Florida bathrooms need special attention?

Year-round humidity means moisture never fully leaves the room, so waterproofing and ventilation failures show up faster here than almost anywhere else. Proper membrane waterproofing behind wet-wall tile and an exhaust fan that's correctly sized and actually vented outside — not into the attic — are the two things that determine whether a bathroom lasts ten years or thirty.

Can you make a bathroom accessible for aging in place?

Yes. Curbless entry, wider door openings, blocking in the walls for future grab bars, comfort-height toilets, and hand-held fixtures are all straightforward to build in during a remodel and expensive to retrofit later. If aging in place is on your mind at all, it's worth doing now.
